Lightborne designed and produced BOSTON 365, an immersive projection-mapped installation at the View Boston observation experience atop the Prudential Tower. This surround installation celebrates the city of Boston in all its dimensions: its beauty, sports, arts, history, and culture through a dynamic, continuously running program that can be customized by time of day, season, or special event.

Designing and animating across an entire city required both creative vision and technical innovation. Because visitors experience the installation from every angle of the room, we could not rely on traditional anamorphic or perspective based projection mapping techniques. Instead, we developed a custom spatial mapping approach that ensured the visuals felt cohesive and spectacular from any vantage point, whether you were standing at the edge of the model or viewing it from across the space.
To manage the immense scale of the project, the city was divided into six large projection zones, supported by modular animation systems for its buildings and landmarks. This approach allowed us to choreograph sweeping visual narratives that flow seamlessly across the city model and onto the surrounding walls, transforming the entire space into a living, breathing portrait of Boston.
