GE Additive

Lightborne partnered with General Electric to create a fully animated graphic piece that would announce the launch of their additive technologies division. Additive manufacturing is similar to 3D printing, but utilizes metal substrates and lasers to forge bespoke machine parts and pieces that are too complicated to mill in traditional manufacturing processes. Additionally they are able to create pieces that are actually stronger than those created traditionally. We created a stylized 3D particle-based treatment that visualizes and replicates how that process works, in a relatable and dynamic fashion – visualizing its potential usage across various industries.
